About
Welcome to Lookout Day Lodge, a hidden gem nestled in the scenic landscape of Ketchum, Idaho. This charming lodge is not just a dining destination; it's a warm retreat for skiers and food lovers alike. Tucked away at NF-135, Lookout Day Lodge prides itself on its authentic vibe and delectable menu, a stark contrast to those often commercialized ski lodges.
Imagine stepping in from the brisk mountain air, your cheeks still flushed from a day on the slopes. The lodge offers a delightful refuge where you can indulge in hearty meals that satisfy both the body and soul. The reviews speak volumes: Brian Geppert praises their "amazing nachos," while Doug Park highlights this spot as the "favorite cheap eats on the mountain," showcasing a menu filled with mouthwatering tacos, burritos, and unique taco salads that empower you to customize your culinary experience.
What truly sets Lookout Day Lodge apart is not just the food but the atmosphere. Ryan King encapsulates the essence perfectly, raving about the stunning 360-degree mountain views and a vibe that evokes nostalgia rather than commercialism. The ambiance invites you to linger, making it ideal for friends to gather and enjoy their meals well into the afternoon. The lodge's ability to accommodate guests without feeling cramped—especially during peak hours—adds to its allure.
You won't want to miss the chance to savor their specialty drinks, which, as Micah Gaudio states, "are amazing." Pair that with a steaming bowl of chili after an exhilarating day skiing, and you’ve got the perfect end to your snowy adventure. Lookout Day Lodge is more than a mere stop; it's a culinary experience wrapped in the beauty of nature.
So if you’re in the Ketchum area and looking for a relaxed atmosphere combined with unforgettable meals, make your way to Lookout Day Lodge. A place where the food warms the soul and the setting celebrates the breathtaking Idaho landscape, it’s a must-visit for anyone seeking both comfort and flavor.
“ No real view from inside since it's so low to the ground. They should really add a 2nd floor. Nachos are amazing. ”
“ This might be my favorite ski lodge I've ever been too. The views were spectacular, true 360 of the surrounding mountains, and the food was great. It also had this gorgeous old school vibe. Definitely didn't feel like your "fake but commercialized" ski lodge. Loved the taco salad I got. You could really customize it. I put pretty much everything on it! Line moved quick and the staff was super nice. Our crew just sat and chatted and ate for quite a while. Easy to find a table at 1:00pm on a Saturday. ”
“ Our favorite cheap eats on the mountain! We enjoyed tacos, burritos, nachos, and some solid taco salads. Those looking for value will tell you this unassuming lodge packs a punch. High recommend for chill atmosphere and good Mexican food. ”
“ One of the most beautiful places in Idaho, and one of my favorites. ”
“ This place is heaven after a rough morning skiing. The specialty drinks are amazing. The chili warms the soul. The view is out of this world. Never crowded that's Sun Valley. ... ”
“ Love the view from this Lodge... Not to mention the perfectly placed chairs.. ”
“ Delicious food all around, expensive but pretty much all ski resort food is expensive. At least this food was seriously delicious so the hefty price tag felt worth it! ”
“ Buy the 30 walking lift ticket. Take the gondola and then the Christmas lift up without skis. Bring a backpack with some goodies. Grab a taco at the lodge and enjoy the view without skiing. Thank me later. ”
